Multiple factors need to be considered if a body corporate intends to install security devices, such as CCTV, in strata buildings. Last week the debate roadshow travelled to North Queensland with great success and resounding feedback that the format was both engaging and informative.
Jason Carlson (Grace Lawyers), Trevor Rawnsley (ARAMA) and Mario Esera (HWL Ebsworth) delivered their respective viewpoints and strategies for achieving harmony within strata schemes while debate facilitator Chris Irons (Strata Solve) looked for holes in their arguments and provided his own insights based on his experience as Former Commissioner for the Office for Body Corporate and Community.
The debate was obviously close in all three locations with comments echoing the sentiments that education, understanding and communication are key to working towards harmony. |

The transition from life in a detached dwelling, where one is accustomed to a degree of autonomy, to life in a body corporate is a challenge for many residents.
In this article, we outline that there are various attitudes and measures the body corporate and its residents can employ to support productive communication and avoid fracturing fragile relationships permanently.
